I’ve long held that democratic change can only come from a nonpartisan movement. The catch i think is what to do with urgent policy issues while reforming the system. Perhaps a key to this is the cypherpunk maxim “transparency for the powerful; privacy for the weak” which could be placed into action by a Lessig admin. Or at least raise the issue… “One must be thankful for small things” (Alice)
